Meet the Composer

EVAN HART MARSH
After giving up the clarinet, and trying to read music altogether, Evan sat down at the piano and suddenly it all started to make sense. Since then he has been composing scores and writing songs for dance companies, independent films, podcasts, and his band, Light Fiction. He grew up in Berkeley, CA listening to his mother's records and the local jazz radio station. His style pulls from jazz, new age, folk, classical, experimental, global, and electronic music. Some of his influences include artists Phillips Glass, John Williams, Chet Baker, Bill Evans, Michael Jones, Gonzales, and Andrew Bird. Evan is a self taught musician fascinated with storytelling and creating worlds that exist only in sound.
